Patrolling members!
For the first time in 20 years, SLSA is improving the CPR process. Statistics have shown that the faster we can get hands on the chest, the higher the chance of survival from a Cardiac Arrest, both on and off the beach. Known as Lifesaving CPR (LCPR), this exciting development will enable us to undertake ‘DRSAB’ in under 15 seconds.
DRY Proficiencies
To learn the new LCPR technique, we are holding compulsory training sessions as part of your DRY proficiency. Before the training, you will need to complete the mandatory Online learning for LCPR. Access via the SLS Hub – go to Applications > eLearning > Training Library > Skills Maintenance 2025/2026 >Resuscitation (Theory).
It is essential that you complete the Resuscitation online training first, as you will not be able to keep up with the training otherwise. As such, if you have not completed the eLearning, you will not be permitted to attend face-to-face sessions.
Bilgola SLSC will hold 8 sessions. Please select a date you can attend and register via the following link : https://form.jotform.com/252298220948868 . Secure your spot quickly, as each session is limited to 20 people.
All sessions are from 6:30 to 8 pm. However, ART certificate holders are required to attend from 6 pm.
- Thurs 4th Sept
- Mon 8th Sept
- Wed 10th Sept
- Mon 15th Sept

You will also need to complete the online 2025 Skills Maintenance for SRC/Bronze Medallion, plus any other awards (e.g., ART certificate holders); however, this can be done at any time before December.
WET Proficiencies
The second change is that the Wet proficiency will be a surf rescue scenario using a tube or board, rather than a run-swim-run. Patrol captains will arrange during patrols.
